Make Your Own Natural Skin Cleanser with These Formulas
We all know skin care is important and a cleanser is a must. Who doesn’t want clear, youthful-looking skin? But picking which skin care products will work the best with your skin, all while trying not to break the bank? Talk about stressful! Luckily, whether or not you use specific skin care products, Mother Nature has made taking care of our skin easier than ever. So whether you’re looking for natural ingredients to use on your face, wanting to change up your skincare routine, or are simply curious, try one of these five natural skin cleansers.
-
Mint, Curd, and Aspirin
In a mixer, blend ½ cup of fresh mint leaves and ½ cup of sour curd to make a fine paste. Then, crush two to three tablets of aspirin to create a powder. Combine this with the mint and curd to create a scrub for your hands and face. Then, simply rinse with water. The mint acts as an anti-inflammatory for your skin. The lactic acid in the curd creates a smooth sheen. And the aspirin tablets add salicylic acid to the cleanser, leaving your face clean, smooth, and smelling wonderful.
-
Milk
If you haven’t heard of using milk for your skin care, don’t worry, Cleopatra has tested it for you. She was one of the first recorded to use milk baths as a beauty treatment. And she wasn’t off the mark. Milk contains vitamin A, which helps relieve dry skin. With the help of lactic acid, it also fights off microbes and soothes irritated skin. To make this cleanser, take chilled milk or milk at room temperature in a cotton ball and clean your face like you would using an astringent for clean, moist skin.
-
Baking Soda and Lime
Baking soda is a great skin care product. It both exfoliates and balances the pH level of your skin, maintaining that even and clear looking skin we all crave. And lime juice acts as an astringent. Clean your face with a mixture of two teaspoons of baking soda and one teaspoon of lime juice. Rinse off with plain water. This is ideal for oily skin.
-
Corn Meal and Yogurt
By mixing corn meal (about four teaspoons) with half a cup of yogurt, you’ll have a cleanser that is ideal for dry skin. The yogurt locks in moisture and has natural alpha hydroxy acid, which smooths the skin. Combine that with corn meal, which acts as an exfoliator, and you’ll have beautiful skin in no time.
-
Lime, Honey, and Egg White
When you mix one teaspoon of lime juice, one teaspoon of honey, and an egg white from on egg, you will have created a cleanser with more skin rejuvenating properties than you could have imagined. The egg white helps tighten the skin, reduce the appearance of pores, and improve skin texture. The honey acts as a natural antibacterial, ideal for treating and preventing acne. It is also packed with antioxidants, which helps slow the aging process. And the lime cleanses your skin, reducing oil production and removing dead skin. Simply clean your face with the mixture and rinse off with water.
